Overview of Glyphdoctors Gallery
Welcome to Glyphdoctors Gallery. This feature of the Glyphdoctors Web site has five goals:
- To tell the story of a particiular hieroglyph: what it represents, how it is used, and other interesting information about it
- To teach you how to draw the glyph through animated clips
- To show examples of how the sign was actually written on papyrus or carved in stone
- To show what the hieroglyph actually represents in real life
- To offer links to other Web sites and books you can purchase that reinforce the above goals
Here, we offer just a couple examples from the Glyphdoctors Gallery. Enrolees in our future online hieroglyphs courses will gain access to a more extensive gallery.
The hieroglyphs are organized at the left according to their name in Gardiner's sign-list. To enjoy this feature fully, you will need to have Macromedia's free Flash Player installed on your computer.
